Introduction to Seasons…

Someone made a really good point to me quite a while back in a comment in an attempt to make me stop writing. They told me that the story was really good, but that I should have stopped at Book III because that’s where the story stopped.

They were right.

Don’t panic; I’m not going to stop writing, but I just want to point something out and make an announcement to those of you who have seen a significant change in the writing from Book I to Book IV.

For a story to continue, characters must change, people must die, situations and dramas must develop—things don’t stay the same. As a result, you may lose readers. People may lose interest. They may not be happy with the direction of the tale.

And you know what? That’s okay.

I stopped watching TV because it just wasn’t holding my interest anymore, but I was still diehard on some series just because I was… until they didn’t hold my interest anymore either.

I fussed and I screamed and I jumped up and down and had a temper tantrum when Grey’s Anatomy killed off McDreamy, but people still watch Grey’s Anatomy.

There was an episode of Scandal where some young black kid was killed and Olivia Pope came to the rescue and some black activist looking for his fifteen minutes of fame starts bashing her right there on the scene loosely referring to her as a tool used by the white man to get the black folks to shut up (not his exact words), all I could see was some flighty-ass “brother” looking for attention and bringing separatism to the black community instead of relief to the family. As a result, I watched the first few minutes of that episode and never watched Scandal again, but other people watched Scandal all the way to the end.

And guess what? Shondaland didn’t die because I stopped watching and my story won’t die because certain people stopped reading and lost or lose interest. But Shondaland and my broken love affair with Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal (when it was on) made me realize something…

The “Christian and Ana Show” did end with Book III. That’s where they got married, had their kids, and their “happily ever after” began. Once you get to Book IV, you are now in the series—the soap opera. You are now in the Downton Abbey, the Days of Our Lives, the Game of Thrones (before it ended), General Hospital of the Christian and Ana saga and how they interact with other people and the other dramas that occur from those interactions.

As a result, Book IV will be renamed Season IV, and the chapters renamed Episodes. This way, there will be no confusion for those of the mind that the particular Christian and Ana story stopped at Book III. You’re right. The rest of the series is now called

The Misadventures of Christian and Ana and Their Crazy Friends

It will be named Misadventures for short, and each season will most likely still have a title of its own. Enjoy. Or don’t. But don’t ever suggest that I stop writing. I won’t 😊

You are a genius! Fyi, Guiding Light holds the record for 57 Seasons! 💞

    • Girl, I didn’t think ANYTHING was going to outlive Ericka Kane, and then they cancelled All My Children and I was like, “Oh God, the world is ending!!!”

      • Wally Cruz says:

Please, let Ana and Christian are the couple for ever lasting love, just let they be together living as couple learning to defend their relation and growing as family. Please don’t separate them. Is the purpose of reading the story after all. I read a FF where CG died, so really, thats lost all the interest, because being realistic that’s why we are reading this. All relate to 50 shades or their principal characters. Both of them are the meaning of anything. So, I understand characters has to going and new characters has to come. But C&A are the principals characters and for me, this why any story exists. Lost characters are part of the process, but lost any of the principals is to hard for continue the story related with 50 shades. Please, just don’t separate or eliminate any of them (C&A). I really, really like you story.
Waiting for a new fantastic trip…

      • I can’t read stories where Christian or Ana dies. I’ve read one or two cheat fics that ended up with HEA’s, but if someone told me that one of them dies, I stopped reading. That’s too much on my heart.

      • Amanda Nance says:

You ain’t even kidding I watched AMC from when I was a little girl with my mom and nanny maw and I’m 48 there ain’t nothing better than Tad and Dixie and Angie and Jessie and I could go on and on and who on earth wants you to stop writing because you know I reading this story again I’ve lost count hugs sweet friend 💐

      • Guuuuuuuurl, yes! Angie and Jesse, Jesus! They went through so much. And folks dying and coming back to lie, dear God! Then Tad and Ted, and Ericka’s 100 husbands and oy, vey!

      • Barbara says:

Me too, Beachycolor. VCR was invented just in time for me. My son was born in 1971 and I started watching as I fed him his lunchtime bottle.

I adore you and your writing. Thank you for never stopping!

Misadventures!!!! I like it! Because it is an adventure

  5. KJ says:

    SAGA
    1. a long story of heroic achievement, especially a medieval prose narrative in Old Norse or Old Icelandic.
    2. a long, involved story, account, or series of incidents.

Saga covers everything you said pretty well. In my humble opinion, The Butterfly Saga is a pretty apt description for this series. Every story no matter how many characters it involves, has central characters and the central characters in this are Christian and Ana. Even if you add a thousand characters, they are characters that will be linked to the two, whether directly or indirectly.
I could write a long soliloquy about why you should keep the original name, but at the end of the day it’s entirely up to you. I don’t know why, but the idea of you changing the title really saddens me. Please consider keeping it.

I thank you for your dedication to this ongoing Saga (pun intended). Despite your very busy life, your learning to further your career, you have kept us engaged and entertained, and I for one I am very grateful. I am in the BDSM community, and I greatly appreciate the positive light. Thank you, and I look forward to the next instalment. Again, thank you. KJ. A loyal and dedicated reader.

    • Thank you so much!!! The Butterfly Saga isn’t gone. “Misadventures” is just somewhat like a subtitle for the series. It will always be the Butterfly Saga. I stumbled on that title and I just can’t let it go. 😉

I’m still learning a whole lot about BDSM. I don’t think I’ll ever learn it all (who could???) but it’s really fascinating. And a lot of the information that I’m getting with my in depth study is really, really good relationship info – BDSM or vanilla. My husband and I have some really interesting discussions, lol.

  6. I absolutely love love love this story so please don’t stop writing! Whether its Butterfly Saga or Seasons I absolutely cant wait to read the rest of your interpretation of Christian and Ana! Its in my top 2 faces in fanfics. I look forward to the rest of this story.

I love love your writing BG. Please don’t ever stop writing. At first, when things started to change, I balked a bit. I will admit that but then I started enjoy it because it also seemed so real. You have no idea how much I have learnt by reading your series.

    • If you balked, my friend, I honestly don’t remember, but I’m glad you stuck around and are now enjoying it. ❤

      • Sanjana says:

Well I didn’t comment about it anywhere. If I don’t have anything kind to say, I usually keep my mouth shut. If it’s not for me, I quietly go away. But like I said you are one of my favorite writers ever so I didn’t want to give up. Even though Golden wasn’t my cup of tea, I still read right till the end and honestly loved it.

  8. Amanda says:

I am so happy to hear that you are not going to stop writing. At the end of every book I’m always praying for another and you always do. So thank you for that. ♥️

  9. sweetsub75 says:

Oh yes……..my dream came true….a never ending..well I hope you won’t tired anytime soon
I feel like a kid on Christmas day…..yesssss

  10. Me says:

I’m in! Looking forward to it!

  11. bichonmomma says:

So so glad you will continue writing and especially the continuation of Christian and Ana. Yes people, relationship and life in general evolve. This is a good thing. Out life experiences change us and help us grow and mature. I think the growing pains that you have written in this season are perfect. It reflects on how a relationship evolves with the changes that come into their lives like children, deaths and new family members. I have read your story of Christian and Ana for so long that I don’t won’t it to end. The evolving lives of our favorite fictional couple as told by the Goddess. I look forward to reading the journey you carry them on for a long time into the future.

  12. Insanespinster says:

I care not what the title is, I am just honored that I get to read your work. Your saga of Christian and Ana has affected people in ways you may never know. I am so selfishly happy that it going to continue. I can’t wait to follow along on this wonderful journey.

  13. falalalynx says:

    “But don’t ever suggest I stop writing . I won’t”

Little notes from you always make me freak out. And my heart started racing as soon as I started reading. Oh no what’s happened now? Who’s stressing my Goddess? But in this case you laid my fear to rest. Whew! What a way to start my day. Not! grin

The idea of no more Goddess goodness is compounded with the loss of no more community, no more real or imaginary friends. This loss would be devastating. I couldn’t take it. You hear me? No no no no no no

Falala needs to go back to bed. This thought is just a bad dream.

    • If I ever stopped writing, MY imaginary friends would drive me insane!

      • falalalynx says:

And I would go insane without you and your imagination. grin You gave me Chuck ( I have a bit of a crush on him. grin Can you tell?) and Keri and Mikey and Minnie and Courtney and Vicki and James and the uncles and cousins and so so soooo much. Sophie Marlow Harmony Alec little Harry and on and on. And I haven’t even begun to list the baddies I love to hate. NEVER ever believe anyone who tells you to stop writing. Listen to us who love you. xoxoxoxo Peace, Falala

  14. Michelle says:

I’m on the 5th time rereading your story and can’t wait for the next Season!

  15. Dee says:

It is mighty fine reading no matter what you call it. We the readers are blessed because of it. 🙏

  16. Connie Gould says:

thank God you scared me this as I love el James story I love this more I think yours would have made a better movie reading this story helps me unwind and enjoy places I would never get to go I have no happiness in my life and your story is the only happiness I get so think you for writing this story helps me I am and old lady and reading your story is my escape from a very boring life lots of love and prayers from a big fan

  17. Sherry Brown says:

I rarely comment on stories written. Normally I just get on the rollercoaster and enjoy the ride. When Raising Grey got closer to the end I became scared that it would be the end of the entire Saga. I was thrilled to see that it will continue on. You are a fantastic writer with a creative mind that few can match. I don’t care what you call the series, just please don’t ever stop writing.

I haven’t read Golden as I prefer less sex and more love story but I might have to give it a try.

  18. Amy says:

You are a awesome writer. I can’t wait for your next chapter/episode to come out. I know one day you will come to the end of the story. I will be really sad that day. But I hope you will always have something new to write about. I will be one of those readers who will follow. Now I don’t review often. Unlike you I have a difficult time putting thoughts down on pages. I just wanted to let you know there are readers out here that love your writing even though you don’t hear from us.

    Thank You!!!

  19. mikimiller says:

I didn’t pinpoint until you mentioned it but that was the last time I watched Scandal too! I still went to the PaleyFest events, but never watched again.

Job well done as always and I look forward to next season. 😍

    • falalalynx says:

I can relate to this. I quit watching “Once Upon a Time” when they murdered off Sheriff Graham. And this was years before he became Christian. I couldn’t believe they found him so disposable. He was what pulled me to the show. Peace, Falala

      • Junebride says:

Hi, Falala, I’m glad I never got to watch it because I would have been heartbroken… lol Makes you think what really happened there. After my daughter (she watched the whole thing) told me they had killed him off, I had no interest (grin)

      • falalalynx says:

        Hey Junie,
I bought the dvd for the first season because he was in the first seven episodes. I watch those and ignore the rest. It was such an easy going character, a certain innocence, fun and funny and he got to speak Irish. lol sigh This is when I fell for Jamie. giggle Long before the naked Christian stage. I even managed to watch The Fall where Jamie plays a psycho killer stalker guy because it was Jamie. Boy talk about a different character. lol I remember one week I watched Once Upon a Time, The Fall and one of the Fifty films and oh brother did I ever scramble my dreamscape. lol I think you should watch it. He’s lovely and the whole premise of the series is it retells fairy tales sooooo your a big girl. You can handle it. giggle BUT you must stay away from the Fall. The character is scary horrible and yet so ‘normal’ I guess I would say. That’s what makes him so so scary. xoxoxoxo Peace, Falala

      • I didn’t even know that he was in that until probably after they killed him off. My husband used to watch “Once Upon A Time.”

    • I think that episode might have struck (stricken?) a bad note with quite a few of us.

      • Junebride says:

Dear Falala and Goddess, I did watch The Fall and bought the DVD series. Loved it. He’s so dark but played it beautifully.

My daughter watched the whole series of OUAT. She loved them all. I don’t think I’ll be watching, though. Just knowing that Regina will finish him off is disturbing.

I did watch the Fifty films and found that he and Dakota carried the films. They left a lot of important stuff out that if you hadn’t read the books you wouldn’t understand, especially the last two movies; the last one was the shortest one I believe. It was really a shame they short changed us!

There is also Racing Hearts that I really liked. He looks a lot like Christian in that one, but without the BDSM. He’s so easy on the eyes… grin

Thank you, Goddess, looking forward to new chapters to come.

  20. Barbara says:

I for one will always read what you write. Even your sometimes funny and sometimes angry emails. I learn so many things by reading your stories besides the fact I’m a sucker for a good love story, mystery or a murder or two. But you made a BIG, BIG mistake in stopping your watching Scandal because of that angry brother. You needed to have a little faith in the story. That brother ends up working for Olivia. And Spoiler alert 🚨 he has an affair with a very top tiered character. I couldn’t totally spoil it for your readers. Thank you for the many gifts you give me.

    • I looked at some spoilers and small pieces of episodes later and gathered as much, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. So, I don’t regret my decision. I did see a few of the really controversal scenes as it was ending, but I didn’t watch it after that episode.

  21. immabblol1 says:

The hell with what someone’s opinion is! You like to write and most of is love to read it!!! With that being said, thank you for your time, talent and effort that you give to is freely. Thank you for giving us something to occupy or minds when things are going good in life. You’re the best

  22. Junebride says:

Thank you, Goddess, for Golden. Loved the ending, however, me curious as I am will still be wondering what happened years from the last chapter (grin) Hoping you’d do an update sometime soon, although I have a feeling that won’t happen (sad face).

Also thank you for telling us you’ll never stop writing. You are too good to listen to people who do not appreciate your talent, gift, and giving of yourself to us. Their opinion doesn’t count, your true fans love you and want MORE…!!

I went to bed very late last night but something told me to look in my email. Shouldn’t have listened because at 4 am I saw your link and had to read the chapter. It was so, so good! Couldn’t put it down. I am always looking for the next one (lol). Love your writing much, much better than the original. You bring your characters to life and it is a thrilling story. Your Ana and Christian are quite different and more interesting. You always keep us guessing what comes next. The way you describe people, places, etc. is mind blowing and explicit.

Thank you for sharing your gift with us, don’t pay attention to those who complain or criticize. The rest of us will be here as long as you are here. It really gives me an outing to all my everyday problems/emotional state and takes me to another level/planet, whatever you want to call it.

Please take care and stay safe. Love ya,
    xoxoxoxoxo

Sounds like a fantastic idea to me! Can’t wait, bring on more misadventures 😁

  24. falalalynx says:

    Good evening my Goddess,

I have a request please pretty please. Your picture collage of all the characters at the beginning is wonderful but I must confess there are a couple I can’t remember which character they represent. So my favor is could you give me a refresher course and put the character name with the appropriate picture? Please and thank you for indulging me. xoxo
    Peace, Falala

    • That’s not everybody of course. It’s just who I could fit in the picture. From the top, Valerie, Elliot, Chuck, Keri, Gary; second row, Al and James is underneath him; next to him is Sophie, and the twins are underneath her; then Ana and Christian of course; and next to Christian is Marilyn; on the bottom row, there’s Mia, Ethan, Grace, Carrick, and Laura (from Australia).

      • falalalynx says:

Oh Goddess thank you. Just what I needed. lol That’s Gary? Marilyn are you crazy? lol And I don’t believe I ever saw a picture of Laura. Now I must plant these visuals in my brain so I can bring them up when I’m reading about them? grin Are there pictures of Gail and Jason? Wait are there some in Paging Dr. Steele? You are the best. xoxoxoxo

      • Yes, I have shots of all the characters on my Pinterest page.

      • falalalynx says:

        Good morning Goddess,
Last evening I went looking for the pictures of characters and the only one I found is Kirstin Dunst as Gail I think. I couldn’t find all the characters anywhere. The ‘Gail’ picture was in a specific pinterest file on The Trip to Anquilla which is attached to the chapter 57 Mrs. Taylor. Is there a list of Pinterest pages or an umbrella page or will I need to work this through chapter by chapter? grin my latest obsession. grin triggered by a collage. life with Falala. I am what I am. grin A pain in the butt. I think I got spoiled with Golden where you put a picture up to show who’s point of view we were reading. I think that’s why I was able to read Golden and never think of Trey as Christian. He didn’t look like Jamie. I’m having fun though. lol Peace, Falala

      • falalalynx says:

        Which one is Jason Taylor?

      • falalalynx says:

OMG!! You’ve got Christian all kinds of hotness and Jason and Chuck! It’s a trifecta. I may not sleep tonight. lol

  25. Sheryl Islo says:

Ive been one of you’re avid reader since your story..i mean your book…is still on Fanfiction.Net. And I must say, i love every minute of it. Every moment, every confrontation, every tear, every laugh…it keeps me on the edge of my seat….literally. I love how you make Chris and Ana so relatable to ordinary people like me, never minding the fact that they’re uber rich and i only have a couple of zeroes to my name (lol) but I mean, their experiences and their trials is what made them so human. Somehow eventhough its a work of fiction, it kinda grounds me, especially on days that I feel life is so unfair…I just open your story and yeah….it holds me down….literally..i just wanna say thank you for spending time in writing this amazing story and your pinterest board….amazing…it gives me the feeling that IAM a part of the book.. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Can’t wait for Season 4!!!!

  26. Amy Rehard says:

Is the reason ros left is that she is on drugs?

  27. Tertia says:

    Thank you for continuing writing.

  28. Debbie says:

    Dearest BG,
I am still reading your fabulousness. Haven’t commented in several months due to life in 2019 has sucked. I have had to go back to the beginning of this “book/season” IV and re-read twice. May have to read again. My head has been so scrambled trying to put out fires, that sometimes……well I just know your saga is here to get lost in. It is my constant.
I’m sooo relieved and appreciative you are continuing writing.
I always wish you well and pray for you and all the lovely people here.
    As always you have me,

Please don’t stop writing. You’re awesome but let Butterfly and Christian be together just don’t separate

  30. Misty says:

But it will still be a C&A story???

  31. Camille Henley says:

My Dear Goddess! Thank you for giving some of us hope, life, happiness, vacation that we can only dream of but live through Ana and Christian tears and so much more. As one of the other reader stated, I don’t honestly think you know how much you do and gives some of us. It not just a story it’s so much more for us. You’re talented and more importantly you care so much for your characters and your readers. You have introduced many characters in your last two to three saga. I would have to disagree that the story ended at book three. Sometimes I think you have to have a vision and that exactly what you have given your die hard fans. There was a time when you and I wasn’t on the same page. However, respect was never lost. The facts that you took your personal time and email me and explained how I offended you made me feel like shit. I have always been so sorry for that. However, we was able to move past that. And I just want to say thank you. I’m no writer and can’t put my words together sometimes. But his beautiful love story of yours has been my number one for years. The research that you do on your stories speaks of the value that you have for your characters and your readers.

Thanks for all that you have given us and PLEASE DON”T EVER STOP WRITING. We have other awesome writer out there, to me they can’t compare to your style of writing….

    Your Fan Always
    Camille

So I am one of those people that can’t wait a week to find out what happens next. So I’ve waited like a year before I started reading Raising Grey. I just want you to know that I truly enjoy reading your stories. They are so detailed and keep my attention. I love the idea of changing to Seasons and Episodes! I hope you enjoy writing as much as I enjoy reading what you write. Keep up the fantastic work!
