Final Author’s Note—Read it if you feel like it

I struggled with whether or not I should do this because I feel like a story should just stand on its own without a lot of explanation. Nonetheless, I decided to do this because I’m aware that I’ve taken two beloved characters and placed them in a situation completely out of canon. I’ve taken them so far away from who we know them to be that I completely changed their names and appearance and only used their real names very few times in the story. Both of their backgrounds were completely different than the original, and their familial relationships were completely opposite of what we’ve seen before.

Ray was black, for Christ’s sake.

I did that because I wanted to see if I could pull people out of what they were accustomed to and give them a completely different tale. I’ve seen so many different Christian and Ana stories in Fanfiction. I’ve seen a couple where Ana was bisexual; I’ve seen a couple where they didn’t end up together at all; I’ve even seen a couple where one of them died—really died and didn’t come back!

So, my idea was to take another facet of the BDSM relationship and explore it through this couple. I already know that there are people with smoke and steam coming out of their ears right now because Golden and Trey didn’t end up in what we would consider an “exclusive” relationship. To those people, all I can say is that you should probably do a little research on the various aspects of BDSM.

Yes, there are exclusive D/s relationships where there is one Dominant and one submissive. However, there are several relationships where there is one Dominant and many submissives. Each time any character in this story—and even Elena in the Butterfly Saga—played a Dominant, they played this particular role. There are situations where a submissive may or may not be collared, and can be married to her Dom, and he still has other submissives. That one I learned from real life talking to a submissive in that position. There are even Leather Families that can be as simple as having a familial bond to several submissives sharing the same Dom in a polyamorous relationship to several houses being a part of the same Leather Family.

I only say this because you may or may not be pleased with how the story turned out, and I understand that, but don’t feel that way because you think theirs is a relationship that could never work—many relationships like this work, BDSM and otherwise. We just may not be accustomed to it. It’s okay to feel this way because you feel like Ana and Christian would never do this. You’re accustomed to the HEA and you feel that they didn’t get it on the terms that you felt they should have.

Think about the characters for a minute—Golden hadn’t fucked anyone in an unknown number of years. Yet, she has a dick fetish and her primary role is to get men off through pain and suffering. Christian’s definitely not a submissive, but he can certainly get his jollies from a bit of masochism. He’s had two completely healthy vanilla relationships that didn’t work out because he needed more and just didn’t know what that more was.

How will they handle the additional kink he may need? We’ll assume that they’ll cross that bridge when they get to it. I did warn you guys that it wasn’t going to be the typical Christian and Ana story and I think some of you still wrapped it up in a Fifty Shades of Grey package because I used those characters. Hopefully, I didn’t disappoint everyone, though.

I have read different stories of Ana and Christian and it was interesting to see how different every writer use the characters and see them. Some had me in tears where others just cracked me up.
Thank you for your take on these two and it was most definitely a different way of looking at Ana amd Christian

I absolutely loved the story. I have read a lot of fanfiction and applaud you for taking it the direction that you did. Not every story has to have them end up married with children or even each other. I love a really strong and intelligent Ana. One that won’t give in to Christian just because it’s what he wants. Again, wonderfully written and captivating story. SO THANK YOU FOR THAT!!🤩

    Good morning my Goddess,

I’m not sure you could ever disappoint me with your writing. You are the ‘Mistress’ in that regard. grin I am very happy with your conclusion to this story. Both characters remained intact and ended up satisfying a need in the other. I call that bliss. giggle And you even managed to leave Blake right where I wanted him. lol Thank you so much my darlin dearling sweetie pie. Now I’m off to Christmas with the Greys. grin I love how they do holidays. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo Peace, Falala

Great story, it was a very interesting and clever way to manipulate the characters and make something completely new. It’s impressive and awesome that an author can come up with different ideas, takes and ways to mold characters and stories. We all need some variation and diversity, and loved how this story gave some I had never read before and also had it’s own kind of “happy ending”. You are a very talented writer and have a wild imagination, thank you for sharing your brain and general awesomeness through your writing. I loved that you kept Blake and that he had that conversation with Ch. I really liked the idea of a black Ray, so maybe next time you could paint a mixed or even a latina Ana. That would be fun… I’m Latin American and as the cliche goes, I went to a catholic school and come from a regular, normal religious family and maybe it would be loads of complex for an Ana character.
Reading your author note, let me tell you that you did an excellent work pushing the boundaries of cannon and creating novelty. As in real life, not all the stories must follow a definite line, even if deep down most of us dream about reaching the “conventional” “traditional” happy ending.
Can’t wait for your next adventure and tale. Thank you!!!

This is one of the better AU Christian and Ana stories. I looked forward to each and every chapter. Thanks for a good read, BG!

I’ll admit, it took me a little while to adjust to this Ana and this Christian. But, it was easy to accept them as different from canon and just go with it. I’ve re-read this story a couple of times and I’m sure it will rate up there with one of my favorite Ana/Christian fics. You are a wonderful writer with a vivid imagination and I hope you continuing writing in this fandom for as long as you have stories to tell and it is still fun for you.

Great Story👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 I loved that it was not a typical HEA but they still ended up together. I thought all the twists and turns along with the “different” turn their relationship took was FABULOUS!!! People have to stop being so judgmental and realize that not all relationships are cookie cutter nor should they be if that’s not someone’s thing. Thanks for the great read. I truly enjoy it ❤️❤️❤️

  11. Barbara says:

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story. I truly enjoyed seeing such a different side of Christian and Ana . I am absolutely thrilled that Golden and Trey finally got it together and literally got together! Once they realized how good they could be, the rest fell into place. I love their un-relationship & how it works for them. Different strokes for different folks & all that. You are a truly gifted & talented writer. I’m a fan for life!
PS… I loved that Ana (& you) insisted that Blake stay in Ana’s life & Christian learned to deal with it!!

  12. Valentinesgenie says:

I love the way you write period I feel this story was written the way it was supposed to . I’ve a lot of Christian and Ana stories and by far your work is superior great work .

  13. self1977 says:

Yes this was definitely a different Ana/Christian story at first I was not too sure but as they ended it was PERFECT because they still were together (Ana/Christian). Thank you, can’t wait for the next!!!!

  14. I absolutely loved this story, it has to be my favorite unconventional Ana/Christian story I’ve read. You had me from the first chapter, and I think the ending was fitting. I can completely see him loving watching her work knowing he’s the only one who can truly have her, that’s gotta be a high of its own plus her working him over and him making her come undone, yeah perfect ending! An like you said a realistic couple scenario for two dominates in a bdsm relationship who don’t really know how to be in a relationship. I was sad to see it end but was fabulously written and I’m sure I’ll revisit this “special” version of anachris again soon…thanks for the wild ride goddess I thoroughly enjoyed it 😜

  15. Sheila Tems says:

Mistress, Goddess, YOU are a master of words. Thank you SOOOO much for all you share! I truly hope you get all the recognition (fan based and $$$) that you TRULY deserve!!!!!! When are you publishing??? I will be in line to buy first editions!!!!

  16. seralynsmom says:

You know what I loved about this? The fact that it WAS different. The world of fanfiction is so full of similar tropes that if you can think of it, it’s probably been done. It’s nice to find something you haven’t come across yet. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good coffee shop trope or stranded together and there’s only one room with one bed 😉 but different is always nice.

  17. Junebride says:

Everything’s been said. A masterpiece!! Kudos to you, Goddess!!

  18. draegonfire says:

I really enjoyed this story. In a way, Ana and Christian did get their HEA, just in a manner that works for them. While their relationship seems unconventional, it works for them. They both stayed themselves, while also getting that “more” they didn’t realize they wanted until they had it.

  19. Camille Henley says:

Sorry it took a day or two to review. I really had to deal with the lost that my favorite story has ended.. I have enjoyed this journey since chapter one which I have repeatedly stated. It so sad that sometimes just being different the world appears to have such a negative opinion. But that’s ok. I just think peoples are afraid of the unknown. Today every things goes. We’re seeing things today that we probably wouldn’t have ever dream of seeing. But changes are sometimes extremely good and healthy. Christian and Ana has a clear understanding of what they wanted and what they had. They’re both happy with their relationship and so am I…

Goddess you’re absolutely brilliant only an intelligent artist/writer can create words such as you have. And as I always said, thanks for all that you give us. Thanks to your family for allowing you the time and efforts to do the research needed to satisfy your readers/fans….

  20. Debbie says:

    Thank you, 💖

  23. Nedbella says:

I absolutely LOVED Golden. Such a change from the regular and so enjoyable to read. Very emotionally deep in many ways. From how they dealt with their own emotional weaknesses to their strengths. Both super strong characters, but vulnerable at the same time. Blake was an amazing character. How you gave him life in this story is a true testament to your talent. Such a great story. Thank you for sharing it. ❤️🔗

  24. Bernadette Zavala says:

After all this time I have finally “sat” down to read Golden in one go… what a twist of dynamics. I’m open to fsog story lines and it was new but intriguing to read. Way to go!!

  25. jjgoldmann says:
