So, first of all, let me apologize for being MIA from the blog for so long. That’s seriously about to change with the latest revelations I have had, so fret not. Secondly, I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. Wow, 2014 is here. It’s sounds a little strange to say that, doesn’t it?
Now, on to business. It’s been a little difficult setting my priorities lately because I am trying to satisfy so many people. While it makes me very happy to satisfy so many, I’m finding that I am completely and totally unable to satisfy myself in the process. I’m getting confused a lot more, dissatisfied with things and most of all–sidetracked like hell! I have learned that I have to write new material in order to be able to read–and re-read–my old material (you know, the stuff that I am editing so that I can publish it). The problem is that I became so caught up with the new stuff that the original work sort of fell by the wayside a bit, that is until people started asking me “Hey, when is the book coming out?” So here is my third apology. I did get a little lazy with my edits, but I am officially back on track. I was moving very quickly with the second round and then I slowed down to a crawl, but I am back with a vengeance, I promise.
Now, as you may have noticed (or maybe you didn’t), the blog is undergoing some construction. This is happening because I am preparing for the book to be published and I will be over here a lot more. In addition, my fanfiction stories will be moving over here as well, but only temporarily. I have grown very weary of the catty behavior that I am seeing on Fanfiction. I will leave my stories in that forum until I can no longer tolerate it or until the admins kick me off–whichever comes first. I have amassed a large and wonderful following on Fanfiction, and I hope that I can get some more, but constantly having to defend myself for a FREE story is really starting to get old.
People are very emotional about liking my story, but they are also very emotional about disliking it. They take some of this stuff really personally and I seriously don’t get that. I had one person refer to my story as the “Titanic of Fanfiction,” but she sat there and read all 70 chapters…
Yeah, I know… I was confused, too. You read 70 chapters of something that you utterly hated because you wanted to be thorough while you were insulting me… hmmm. That’s like sitting through a root canal with no anesthesia because you just wanted to see how painful it really was. Dumb, right? Really stupid.
Anyway, I have been seeing more and more of this since my first story has been completed and although I really love the fact that people love to re-read it and relive the journey, I think I’ve had about enough of these idiots who come through and insult me for no reason. So… I am going to begin the painstaking process of moving my stories from Fanfiction over to this blog in all of their unedited glory. It will take a while but they will be here soon, and they will stay here until–like I said–I have to remove them for publishing purposes. They will also stay on Fanfiction until I just become too tired of the bullshit or some haters have me removed. We’ll see how that works out. I say that because I had someone refer to the Fanfiction guidelines and tell me today that my story was pornography. Yeah… tell that to too many people, and my story is gone off Fanfiction. I may seek other public forums if I feel like it, but I should probably concentrate more on the editing and publishing until I have to cross that bridge, right?
So I just wanted to let you all know that Paging Dr. Steele and Mending Dr. Steele will soon be accessible on this forum. I will be adding an author’s note to the end of “Paging Dr. Steele” informing readers that if they don’t add themselves to my mailing list, they may soon be out in the cold as to where to find my stories and sneak previews. So pass the word for me, my beloveds, that folks really do want to get on my mailing list, follow my blog, like my Facebook page, and friend me on Facebook as well. I was playing around before, but things just got serious.
Oh, and don’t worry–the trolls will NEVER force me to stop writing.
Love and Handcuffs (and fuck the haters and trolls),
